Katherine Zackel

Katherine advises senior executives, PR professionals, and public affairs teams through crisis communications, strategic alignment, media relations, and issues management. She has supported clients in technology, cybersecurity, and renewable energy through periods of rapid growth, strategic realignments, executive transitions, integrated campaigns, and unexpected challenges and crises.

She spent more than a dozen years as an FBI spokesperson, managing major crises, political challenges, and intense public scrutiny. She has deployed to crisis situations around the country and managed war rooms, press conferences, and national security emergencies. She shaped strategic messaging on issues at the intersection of technology and national security, including cybersecurity, data privacy, artificial intelligence, and disinformation.

As a strategic communications and media training instructor, Katherine has delivered customized communications training for executives, engineers, technical professionals, cybersecurity experts, law enforcement officers, and public sector agencies in media relations, crisis communications, public affairs, community engagement, and public speaking.

Katherine holds a Masters of Global Policy Studies from the LBJ School of Public Affairs at The University of Texas at Austin and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Notre Dame.
